GOP aims to slow federal bullet buys so gun owners can buy more

Fact of the matter is that gun owners and the eBay mentality, for lack of a better term, are what's responsible for this ammo shortage. Not the government.

They wouldn't feel the need to buy if they didn't think they weren't going to be allowed to in the future. The govt. isn't completely absolved of responsibility.

Actually they are looking out for their fellow man and opposing big business. It's just that the fellow man in this case is a lunatic and their solution to his conspiracy theories is to pass a law that would take away a lot of fat government contracts. The firearm industry, the people propping up the NRA, care a lot more about those sweet contracts than about the raving delusions of their customer base so they're opposing it. Expect this bill to quietly die after a few GOP congressmen get stern phonecalls from their gun industry donors.

Your country is seriously crazy, Americans.

Don't lump us in with the Republicans, because it's 100% them. This **** is literally on conspiracy levels of stupidity to the point where the NRA thinks it's dumb, as one user pointed out. There's pretty much zero overlap with this looney thinking and Democrats and pretty much the rest of the country.

Also, it's best to just put Anarchy on your ignore list. Dude is literally the exact same lunatic gun owner who fears that all guns will be banned, and is the exact reason TC's article exists to begin with.

I voted for Obama and I buy ammo.

I'm not a high school student with no perspective though.

The reality is that huge government contracts usually lead to cheaper ammo. There's usually production overruns that get sent to the civilian market.

For example, a couple of years ago I was always seeing Winchester 100-round boxes of "9mm NATO". That was military ammo that they'd produced more of than the military actually needed.

Seriously, another gun topic?

Yeah. Come on guys. Surely these gun topics should have dried up after we solved gun violence once and for all and politicians haven't mentioned guns since.
