Considering that they survive without electricity or government-purified water, I'm pretty sure they've grasped the concept of gallows humor

They have also grasped the concept of having an average lifespan of 40 years.

If they can do it, then the entitlement generation of this country can too!

More like 60

And if your expected lifespan is only fifteen years less than a first world country (full of modern conveniences) and you're living off the grid, I'd say you've got a place in the evolutionary ladder

I hope everybody is being sarcastic, but with this board you never know.

I saw Michio Kaku on RT today saying, in complete seriousness, that "poor countries are poor because they don't accept science".

Just when I thought Michio Kaku couldn't get more of an absolute joke I listened to some of his political views.

Great idea to provide electricity without having to build all the infrastructure of a power grid. Solar panels can last decades with little to no maintenance, and should do well to meet the modest power requirements of these people, especially in the high-altitude areas most of these will probably go. I bet all those panels are coming from China, too.

Correct.

Because people totally aren't going to bother to take care of their only way of accessing electricity and a meager portion of the modern world's conveniences.

Slim, I hope you do go down to Peru and try to steal some solar panels. You can find out what an isolated Peruvian village's version of "Stand Your Ground" is.
