In the modern age, doesn't it make more sense to worship...

Non-human entities like the Sun, Moon, and plants, rather than some invisible deity?

Let me explain. While the debate still rages over whether some deity or deities exist and/or help us, we know for a fact that the Sun exists and helps us, that the Moon exists helps us, we know we exist symbiotically with plants and other animals.

So why not worship and give thanks to those things which we know help us, rather than speaking to the sky and wondering if anyone is listening?

Good point. I mean...why we don't we worship medicine either ? That helps us a lot too. Or like...cars. Or water.

And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?

Exactly. It seems more valid to worship any or all of those things.

If I wasn't a Christian, I'd probably be a druid. But now that I am, I'm pretty sure Christ doesn't want to share my worship and devotion with nature. If it helps though, I still love nature and feel closest with God in times of hiking/fishing/gold panning.

Let's take it to the logical (mathematical) conclusion and worship MATH! This comic illustrates it perfectly http://xkcd.com/435/

Isn't the point of worship to show your love for something that, y'know, cares if you love it or not?

The sun, the moon, other abstract concepts... they don't have consciousness, so why the hell would you worship them?

Tbh this, I absolutely love math and find it ridiculously entertaining.

But anyway, I worship the invisible entity deity because it made those things that help so much. Of its own accord, I might add. The Sun isn't helping because it wants to.

You mean they're all physical manifestations of spiritual forces which emanate from the living God?

While this is perfectly true, what you don't see is the philospher behind the mathematician talking to himself.

How exactly is consciousness any more valid of a trait the... anything? I have consciousness but i know full well that the moon or sun is more worthy of worship
