Can any muslims give me a "rundown" of the muslim faith?

The Bible focuses on Jesus' birth, his 3-year ministry, and his death because those were the most significant parts of his life. For Moses or any of the other prophets, the Bible does not give much detail of their earlier life, aside from significant moments.

I figured some guy who is the son of god and who has magical powers would have done something important before middle age. Guess I was wrong.

It's called the Biblical apocrypha. It isn't canon because of Charlemagne, but it serves insight.

There's a group in Melbourne that produces pamphlets on Islam. They're pretty informative and basic and are produced by Muslims. If you're interested, you can check them out here:

Are you really that interested in how Jesus made houses with his father?

now, i would be interested if he read any religious texts at all during the time where he isn't recorded, but the lack of information suggests that he probably didn't and lived a normal, though probably more righteous than your average d00d, lifestyle.

No I'm not. Did you even read the post you quoted? I feel like it's a bit ridiculous for him to have not done anything important until he was like thirty or whatever.

Maybe Jesus wanted to experience what a normal life was like without breaking the laws of physics for a little bit.
