Why do many Christians talk down on stuff like homeopathy?

#1DiranosaurPosted 7/20/2011 3:11:48 PM
Both Christianity and homeopathy are "proved" by books and the work of prayer or homeopathy. Why do I hear Christians calling homeopathy bulls***?

Don't get me wrong, I also think that homeopathy is bulls***, but shouldn't Christians be more open to blind faith based on personal stories and literature?

If you don't mind me asking: Why do you think they do that? If you absolutely had to venture an honest and considered guess, what would it be?

Being brainwashed / having strongly rooted beliefs that they don't realize are based on nothing else than a book and personal stories? Still, I think most Christians are actually aware of the fact that their faith is based on that alone, and thus they SHOULD be more open to people basing their beliefs on similar things.

I've never heard a Christian talk down on homeopathy. In fact, my Christian mother has taken me to a homeopathic doctor (much to my dismay - there are better ways to use our little money) for a few appointments.

Interesting theory. Do you have much experience with Christians who are critical of homeopathy? What makes you think they are brainwashed or don't understand the foundations of their own beliefs?

I listened to the first three demos and actually quite enjoyed them. Reminds me of the Renaissance fair in Michigan. Keep it up.

I've heard a few Christians talk down on homeopathy. Homeopathy was just an example, as I've heard Christians talk down on other religions, especially pagan ones, many many times.

If they fully understood and accepted the foundation of their beliefs, they would be more open minded.

I don't even know what homeopathy is.

The belief that something that causes a symptom also will cure the same symptom, and that the more diluted it is, the more effective it is. Or something along those lines.
