When God has never answered my prayers, why should I still believe in Her?

People constantly ask why I lack belief in God. They tell me all of the great and amazing things She has done for them. Yet, when I tell them that She has done none of those things mentioned for me, they have nothing to say. Can anyone convince me otherwise?

Typically, the use of God to refer to a specific god, refers to the god of Abraham, whoŚlike Optimus PrimeŚlacks a biological gender, but is characterized as male.

Unless you happen to be from Silent Hill, the use of the female pronoun is suspect.

Does it really matter what pronoun I use to refer to a genderless God?

Only if you wish to be understood properly by your fellows, and not taken as someone wishing solely to annoy.

Would you refer to Optimus Prime as a she? Or Smurfette as a he? I seriously doubt you would.

If you're not trying to annoy, one would think that you are instead referring to a monotheistic god who is characterized as female.

Which would explain some of the confusion, as in the modern world, "God" again is characterized as male.

But you were not trying to use language only to annoy. Of course not.

But Optimus and Smurfette aren't defined as genderless.

If you're not trying to annoy, one would think that you are instead referring to a monotheistic god who is characterized as female.
So what? Why would it matter to someone whether I refer to my God with a male or female pronoun.

Which would explain some of the confusion, as in the modern world, "God" again is characterized as male.
But... he's genderless. Historical characterizations should have no bearing as to His/Her true nature.

But you were not trying to use language only to annoy. Of course not.
Why would any rational or unbiased person find it annoying that a female pronoun was used to refer to God? Why would they have a problem with female pronouns?

So why did you use Her?
Because I like variety. Either way, tastes in vanity doesn't change the nature of God.

That is a syndrome that people need to deal with themselves.

Optimus Prime and Smurfette ARE completely sexless beings.

"Sure, they have an ethical right. Linguistic practicality? No."

Lol at you talking about linguistic practicality in another topic, and then doing this nonsense here.
