Wherein it's essentially just one big cosmic game of chess. Or checkers. Or Valhalla. No overreaching for moral justification that just does not exist. Two forces that simply doing what they do, one occasionally overtaking the other, with an inevitable reset of the balance and status quo.

I'm don't currently subscribe to any religion, but as a moral skeptic this all just seems to resonate well with me.

And I honestly don't know what my purpose was in making this topic, so don't even ask.

The story of Job seems to support your hypothesis.

I think it's a dualistic view of the world. Ying and yang and all.

This sorta reminds me of the Vorlons and the Shadows from Babylon 5. They basically did just that. Played chess with the lesser races while never attempting direct war against each other because they didn't want to actually win but prove to the other side that their way was the best. It being a Order/Vorlon Chaos/Shadow split.

Sheridan kindly told them to **** off and leave us the hell alone with the help of god.

BTW since I mentioned B5 here's the greatest explanation of what truth and god are by the greatest gospel writer ever(the first one, not the dumbed down crap the audience makes him say after the brilliant speech).

Congratulations you have given Satan what he has always wanted putting he and God on the same level. I want you to think of just how silly that is. Seriously dude?

You sound a little like Augustine.

Your notion of God alone sounds silly to me. Seriously dude?

Have you not read Ezikiel it gives a history about Satan and it says he wants to be worshipped as God. People just stating stuff like this cracks me up.

Well, then, I'll give him more than he was hoping for. Satan is morally superior to god. At least he doesn't damn people for eternity.

Of course, since neither actually exist, this is all a bit meaningless.
