Christians ate children during the first crusade. How sickening. I'm not even surprised. No sense of responsibility from these hateful people to this day.

Muslims still enjoy lashings for petty crimes that may not even be their fault, and still consider women second class humans.

The Germans once decided to try and wipe out every person that wasn't Blond haired and blue eyed in the world. How sickening of those Germans who now apologize and wish to forget the Holocaust and their misdeeds! Their grandpappies did it, so they must be equally to blame!

See where this logic gets you?

While I'm not a part of this argument, I find your generalization of Muslims to be offensive.

And I find his generalization of Christians to be offensive. See how it works?

I don't mean to sound cold and angry about this. I may have needed to clarify a little bit on that one, but it's basically what he's doing. I shouldn't have put "Still" in the first sentence. Would something like this would have been better?

Muslims were once the cause of thousands upon thousands of deaths during their invasion of Europe, including hundreds of innocent lives. I guess we can blame all the innocent and law abiding Muslims that have no connection to these warriors for that massive slaughter?

Because denying the history of the religion when it suits you is a better alternative?

What a completely patronizing and useless message. I bet you feel superior after writing that, eh, kiddo?

Because the Muslims thing was his example on why hateful generalizations are bad?

Because all those 'hateful generalizations' aren't facts of history, right?

No, I'm not denying it. In fact, we should see it. But you should also see how far we've moved on from those times.

Take the German example. Germans these days remember the horrors that their country caused during both World Wars, especially WWII. And it makes them extremely sensitive about these sorts of things, and very apologetic to other countries surrounding this sort of situation.

What you're basically saying is by being born to one of those Germans that did those horrors, you are directly responsible for them and should be seen and treated the same as Nazis..and that's fairly asinine.

Youre suspended lolololol

But in case you come back

Claiming that all modern Christians, including the Protestants and Orthodox let alone the modern Catholics who have never and would never do such a thing, have some kind of responsibility for the Crusades and calling us "hateful people" is a hateful generalization and not a historical fact.

But, for the record, I have apologized for the Crusades. On this board.
