New Pope: "Women are naturally inept at holding political positions."

#1EzeDoesItPosted 3/13/2013 7:30:08 PM
"The natural order and acts show us that the man is to be political for excellence; the scriptures demonstrate that the woman is always the support of the thinking and doing man, but nothing more than that."

There's a trend of topics like this, not on this particular issue, but similar.

It makes me want to ask: Did we really expect the new Pope to hold positions radically different from those the Catholic church has been holding for the last twenty or so years?

Is the Church an organization that we expect to make rapid and dramatic changes?

My thinking is that of course the Pope is a man who is against gay marriage, abortion, and supports outdated ideas about gender roles. The Church simply does not move that fast.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it is the correct approach, but there's no use in expecting a turtle to sprint. So what is it we're really talking about here?

^^Well, you know, the fact that the church is so stuck in its ways is a major reason I deconverted. It's quite clear these guys don't speak for some infinitely wise being, but keep sticking to tradition even when doing so seems stupid.

So yes, i do expect too much from the church. I hold no punches with an organization that claims to represent God.

The "trait of ruling" has probably been bred out of women.

A man who rules can pass off his offspring to a thousand women.

A woman who rules can't possibly have a thousand children, unless she freezes her eggs or something.

Does it strike you as a particularly wise thing to expect blood from a turnip?
