Are you sure you're not reading absolutism in a relative claim?

Ask DC.

Or maybe you can't do it?

From your biased point of view, I can see how that could be a possibility.

Tell that to DC, then, who believes that there IS a contradiction, not that there MIGHT be a contradiction.

I believe there is a contradiction, I just also believe I could be wrong. By your standards nothing is ever proven or disproven.

A rope breaking and causing someone to fall is on par with untestable supernatural occurrences?

Okay. If you say so.

The former just as untestable, and the claim just as un warranted

Nah, too much work for me. I have better things to do.

Hahaha, more like you can't and you know it so you're going to cop out instead of even attempting. Thanks for the chuckle.

Not true.

Your theory of "they were wrong" is just as untestable, though.

What if I told you, you're biased too. And at least my viewpoint is based on facts I'm willing to share.

I'd say "okay", and then wait for the discussion to get back on topic.

The Quran is just as uncontradictory by your standards. So why Christianity, as opposed to the Quran?

Your theory of "they were wrong" is just as untestable, though.

You like to tout the law of non contradiction in defense of all your rationalizations, but you also forget the idea of Bertrand's Russell; whatever the simplest explanation is the most likely. And the idea that they were simply mistaken is far more likely than all the hoops you jump through.

You are free to have your own opinion.

Yeah, it's my opinion that you don't have the guts to do it. It is however, a matter of fact, that you can not do it.

What, exactly, are my standards?

So why Christianity, as opposed to the Quran?

Just because something doesn't contradict doesn't mean I have to follow it.

I'm not forgetting his idea. I'm just not taking it as law. Why should I?

Yeah, it's my opinion that you don't have the guts to do it.

Glad to see we agree.

You pretty much create an ad hoc response for just about anything you need. Intellectual honesty is out the window with you.

It works helluva more consistently. I don't take Plato's law of non-contradiction as law, why should I?

Glad to see we agree.

How is "creating an ad hoc response" bad or dishonest?

Because otherwise, you disregard logic.

It is when it's guided by a bias. Why not create an ad hoc for an interpretation that doesn't harmonize some verses? Oh wait, because youre a typical inerrant fundamentalist (pre-emptive: is this where you go 'am I? I don't think I've claimed that' despite you always trying to de-construct any claim of a contradiction)

Because otherwise, you disregard logic.

Actually, by assuming the Bible does not contradict without any reason to, you disregard logic. Working from the bottom up, you never reach the conclusion of God. Ever.
