People are brain scanned during speaking in tongues. Results are amazing.

So...when not speaking an actual language, the language center of the brain isn't active.

Why is this relevant?

OW: If I lived on a farm or something, sure. But I have no need of slaves right now.

Has anyone ever made an effort to actually translate it?

Well, step one of that is finding discernable patterns. There exist no discernable patterns in this gibberish.

So it's untranslatable.

I'm not asking if they succeeded - indeed, I'd be VERY surprised if they had. I'm asking if anyone's ever tried.

Don't tongue speaking churches usually have "interpreters" to explain what the hell is being said?

The other problem is the various types of speaking in tongues. I've heard at least four distinctly different styles from my own experiences ranging from psuedo-Hebrew to glorified baby sounds. I'm sure someone has tried, but they obviously couldn't produce anything that could be considered a "translation"

Watching people speak in tongues is one of the most cringe worthy things I've ever witnessed.
