How does 263 defines who is a Christian and who is not?

If we are going this route, why can't we go with the tests the Bible sets forward on how to identify true believers, such as in Mark 16:17-18?

Because if you read that verse in a bible, and not from an atheist website on the internet, you'll see that it has a very large disclaimer that says "WARNING: THIS VERSE ONLY APPEARS IN LATER MANUSCRIPTS AND IS PROBABLY COUNTERFEIT. "

Fair enough. Point retracted.

Perhaps because that wasnt originally part of Marks Gospel?

That doesn't matter. We aren't in a exclusive Protestant or Quasi-Protestant topic, I addressed 263 in general.

Its not a 'protestant' thing. Theres lots of historical, linguistic and textual evidence that the last few verses of Mark(including the one quoted) were added sometime in the(probably late) second century. And thus were not penned by Mark. I dont know of anybody who actually knows about these sorts of textual issues that denies this.

That is irrelevant. There are denominations that "don't care" who really penned them and accept them as inspired. If someone wants to define who's a Christian based on them, go ahead.

I usually go with "identifies themselves as a Christian".

why yes if someone has faith and apathetic to the evidence then these verses may be seen as legitimate. but any usage of these as a scare tactic to anyone, or really to even use to challenge the theology of another denomination is pure foolishness.

But we are not debating that.

The term Christian is now a homonym.

It means a bunch of things now. Basically anyone who has some belief relating to Jesus Christ and wants to make a new homonym for Christian, is a 'Christian.'

Now as for the Christian identified in Acts 11:26 -- those are the Christians sealed by the Holy Spirit.
