For those who don't believe in evolution, do you believe in genetics?

Do you believe that we inherit traits from our parents, and continue to pass those traits down to our children?

Not a creationist. But most I think most do accept genetics. Hell, a surprising number even accept natural selection(what they call 'micro-evolution), they just deny that it can create new species.

Jesus Christ believes in genetics. Afterall, without them, he wouldn't have existed.

Yeah, from my very short lurking here, I've seen that a few time, and I don't even get it.

You're basically saying that you acknowledge that animals change over time, but they're not technically a new "kind" of species.

Isn't that just semantics? You said you believe in evolution, but disagree with the definition for a pointless reason. I mean, really, that's an agreement right there.

Anyway, I just made this topic because I find it hypocritical. Evolution basically is genetics on a much grander scale. Evolution is simply what genetics cause to happen over a very long time.

It follows the logic of that first leap and assumption being needed before seeing something very obvious in retrospect. It's not hard for me to believe because, it actually makes perfect sense. You HAVE to be biased to not believe in it, because it makes perfect sense, and has been shown countless times.

Anyway, I know I won't get through to anybody, so I'm not going to try (inb4 you're not trying because you have no evidence, lol), but I just wanted to say those few things.

Carry on with these pointless arguments, which I lurk and laugh.

Also, I'm not trying to mock your religion. As far as I can see, evolution is completely compatible with religion. I never believed otherwise until I saw arguments about it.

The only things it disproves is YEC, and frankly, that deserves to be disproved and mocked. I don't even see how you can possibly believe that...Practically EVERYTHING disproves it.

As long as you don't believe in an anywhere remotely literal account of creation, it doesn't affect anything. Some people take the whole man-being-created thing a little more seriously than not.
