when it comes to exercising Her/His/Its powers, at least when it comes to how God is portrayed in the Old/New Testaments.

Would you agree with this statement

God is very alive and well and working miracles around the world.

This is a rather trollish topic, but it makes a good point. I quite simply do not understand how the characteristics of God as described in the Bible are in line with those expressed by a perfect being. Sure, parts of the Bible have very positive messages, but to take the entire 1500 page collection of stories as a whole, I just don't see it.

If god is real then he has failed his creations. Suffering is everywhere and he doesn't stop it? And he makes up some crappy excuse like "free will" to justify people getting burned alive, mutilated, and tortured?

Absolutely serious: If I had god's power, I would make a better god than he has been. Everyone would be happy and I wouldn't give a damn whether or not they believed in me. No bad people would be created at all, no suffering would be in the world. Everyone would live happy lives and be happy all the time and they would never get tired of it

The worst part, how the hell does 'free will' cause someone to die from natural disasters, freak accidents, diseases, and other unavoidable horrors

Correction: sin. Your great great ancestor ate an apple that doomed us all and now we all deserve to die because of it.

Correction: a magic apple because it gave us the ability to know good and evil.
