To think, I had no idea this board even existed!

Please consider this topic your one stop shopping for any and all shows you will be seeing or want to see this year!

I've already got tickets for:

Seminar (Play staring Alan Rickman)
Evita (First revival since its original Broadway Production, staring Ricky Martin)
Jesus Christ Superstar (Not sure if any big names are going to be in it)

Before 2011 ended we saw Mandy Patinikin and Patty Lupone singing a bunch of Broadway favorites. THAT was the highlight of my year. Considering I never thought I'd get to see either of them, getting to see them both perform together. <3

I figure someone will show up sooner or later.

Keep getting emails about 2 for 1 sales on Broadway right now and i'm tempted to spend more money. I think thats what they are going for.

I'm thinking about getting tickets to the Godspell revival. I've listened to the cast recording, and so far my general impression is that the soloists are all very, very good, but some of the arrangements are abysmally bad. I love the show, though, so it should be worth a trip to NY.

I'm confused by it since its on a round stage. I enjoy the music (well, what I've heard) but can't figure out where the orchestra is.

I may pick up a pair of tickets for Porgy and Bess. I'm hearing wonderful things about it.

Almost bough tickets for the new Streetcar Named Desire thats opening up soon because Avon Barksdale is in it. WIRE + THEATER = Awesome! Then I remembered that I really do not like Streetcar Named Desire. That ended that pretty quickly.

However, there is a 2 night limited engagement in movie theaters where "Love Never Dies" is being shown (sequel to Phantom of the Opera) It's country wide if you are interested. Feb 28 and Mar 7 at 7:30. Check your theaters!

I probably will see some in 2012, but haven't determined any to see. There is a decent local theater scene in Chicago, plus touring national ones tend to do at least runs that last anywhere from a few weeks to several months. Late last year, I saw the musical Rock of Ages, and have to say I was very surprised how much I liked it.
