Need some bodybuilding advice.

#1MrNuzlockerPosted 6/13/2012 2:41:55 PM
My family is a family of bodybuilders, except for my older sister and mum. Honestly speaking, I'm overweight. I'm pampered. So I want to do some light exercises and squats. Problem is, it's been weeks and no results. I've been on a strict diet.

I work out several times a day for a week, then rest on the next, and so on.

I'm not really bothered about the teases I get in school. What I'm bothered about is my dad. My dad won't live that much longer. So I have to learn to be independant and stand on my own two feet. So I require some advice.

(Serious advice only please)

Thanks in advance.

Google Scooby's Workshop. Probably the best advice you can get online for FREE.

The martial arts board is probably the best place you can go to for bodybuilding advice on gamefaqs.

Scooby is terrible. He has absolutely no idea what he's talking about.

Are you serious? Look at the people that tried his routines, they obviously had some great results.

And look at scooby himself. He knows what he's talking about.

Scooby follows typical dumb bodybuilding philosophy like eating egg whites and drinking nonfat milk instead of whole eggs and whole milk.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0IbZ0eiEiQ&feature=relmfu#t=1m32s

"Cardio is much more important than lifting weights." LOL nope.

Plus he advocates LISS as opposed to HITT.

Check out his workouts, for the beginner? http://scoobysworkshop.com/beginning-workout-plan/

None of the big four lifts, no olympic lifts, just silly bulls*** like crunches (which are useless) and pushups. Far too many reps for a beginner. Regardless of the goal, all beginners should focus on power lifting, not hypertrophy.

Intermediate workout plan? http://scoobysworkshop.com/intermediate-workout-plan/

Far too many sets, far too many exercises, far too many reps, far too much silly bulls***. For some reason people the more time spent at the gym the better. No, wrong. If you want the best gains you DON'T fully exert yourself and you DON'T waste time doing dozens of useless exercises. Big lifts, few reps, operate at a percentage of your 1RM.

Basically Scooby is a typical bodybuilder that time traveled from the year 1984.

Starting Strength + HIIT >>> Scooby's nonsense.

Ahh.. Gotcha. I'll go to the martial arts board. I've lost about 5 kilos so far. My bad for not checking my weight. But in terms of body shape... I've not really changed.
