I just figured out when they are going to announce the new companion.

Clearly, it's going to be next month when they hold the official BBC Doctor Who Convention. I feel thick for only realising it now.

Place your bets now on what/who the new companion will be.
I still think they'll be Welsh...

That would make sense! Good call.

I'm pretty annoyed I'm not going but for 99 I'm not too bothered.

Yeah, it's a shame it's such a hefty price. Plus the costs for a travel/hotel in Cardiff. I mean, it is a nice place and everything, but it is expensive.

Last season had an arc in America. Maybe they'll go with an American companion.

I personally feel and older Lennie Briscoe type character would be fun. But the series seems to want to keep the long-standing trend of having a female companion, aside from "The Deadly Assassin" (which had no companion) and "Planet of Fire" (where Turlough was the only companion until Peri's introduction at the end).

I honestly would like to see a return to a Donna-like character, where the companion has no romantic interest in the Doctor.

Personally, I'd love to see Canton back >_>
Even though it doesn't do wood, you NEVER diss the sonic!

Well, Mark Sheppard will be at the convention...
