Why does everyone seem to suddenly hate Moffat now?

Mostly got the impression from youtube

Is it just because he's the current showrunner? Because when RTD was showrunner, everyone went on about him sucking, but now he's left the tide of hatred seems to have slowed.

Is it like the Zelda cycle?( if you know what I mean)

I remember everyone loved Moffat's episodes, wanted him as showrunner, but now he's the devil. Forgive me fof comparing to video game fanbases agains, but it kind of reminds me of Dimps with sonic, you hear things like "typical moffat fail" as if he never made the empty child or blink or silence in the library.( Sonic advance trilogy, sonic rush)

Then they make Series 6( Sonic 4) and suddenly everyone acts as if they were never good ever. (BTW I liked series 6)

I'm not really taking a side on this, i mean i do like the guy's scripts mostly but i'm just curious about this and about what others think
about it.

I'm just interested really.

I just find it interesting, that's all.

To a certain extent, everything you said.

To another extent, exactly what CWS2005WS said.

The Digital Spy lot like their farting aliens and nonsense.
The YouTube lot want to tell you how their friend earns $40,000 a week from filling in surveys at home.
The Galifrey Base just want the show to burn.
The 296 lot want moar moff!
Everyone is united in their desire for the Vastra, Jenny and Strax spin-off...
...except Neve McIntosh, who really wants to be recognised in Morrison's one day.

Also, it is interesting how most people love Moffat but hate River Song. And of the 20+ episodes he has penned since 2005, over half have River Song in.

Mind blown?

I'd like to suggest that the Doctor Who equivalent of the Zelda Cycle be called a "Moff Dive".

"The show really took a Moff Dive when Timmy Mallett started playing the Doctor. Bring back Michael MacIntyre!"

This is kinda perfect.

I think some of it might be an issue of expectations. People built the idea up too much in their heads of what a Moffat run show would be like and the reality could just never live up to it.

I fall into the category of liking Moffat but hating River Song. River has seriously hurt my enjoyment of the series.
