Pokemon Red/Blue multiplayer linking problem PLEASE HELP!

I own a GBA SP and a Gameboy player for Gamecube with a GBA link cable and a copy of both Pokemons Red and Blue. I have attempted to do the trade options with both games from those two systems and the link cable and while attempting it, one system would get past the receptionist at the Pokemon center while the other will not be able, and when both do end up getting past the receptionist one of the games crash. Is there any possible way of fixing this problem? and does the problem originate in the two consoles, the link cable or the games themselves?

You might need a GB link cable or something. Gold/Silver/Crystal is also incompatible with a GBA cable and needs a GBC one, so I guess it might be a similar case with Red/Blue/Yellow.
Is that it is snowing only this paradise?
The paradise was already Alice's playground.

I made a topic covering this a while back (although it didn't get regularly bumped, or stickied)

Here's the link.

All the info you need should be there.
