been using an old friend's copy forever... But he has been playing since D3 announcement, so I dug out my own copy...
Can i somehow just change the cdkey?
Would save me uninstall/reinstall/update/save transfer....

Search google for Diablo 2 CD key changer and you should be able to find an app that can do it for you

So is there a version somewhere of the key changer that will accept the digital download keys? I just had to re-buy my copy 'cause I can't find mine, and I bought it at Blizzard's online store as a download. The key is in the character pattern 6-4-6-4-6. I'd installed using what I thought was my key, but was my husband's, and we'd like to play together. I've uninstalled Diablo II completely, twice, the second time poking through the registry looking for DII entries to get rid of them (found a handful) and making sure no files were left in the install location. However, even though the install takes my new key, when I actually try to use battle.net it's still got hold of the wrong key. And with the refiller only taking the normal 4-4-4-4 pattern, I'm kind of stuck. I haven't been able to find where the stupid thing is stored so I can remove it after an uninstall to get a proper install with the right key. Short of flattening my OS, what else am I missing?
