New player, need some input on which character/build to make

Right now I'm looking at Shock Zealot, Kick/Trap Assassin, or Druid (not sure what kind of build). I'll just be playing single player, I don't care about power gaming, just looking for something fun

Kick/trap 'sin is very fun, as is poison/lightning javazon. Fire Druids are extremely fun, at least for Normal and Nightmare.

a lightning sorceress is cool, if your'e interested in it. Kick-sin is quite good too.

Fire Druids are also good for Nightmare and Hell.

Fire druids become less useful toward hell, you'd rather be wind because wind gets
1. physical + Cold damage
2. Huge elemental damage shield boost.

in hell most of the enemies do significant amounts of elemental damage.

I never said it was better than Wind.
I said it's good for Nightmare and Hell.

That being said, even in Hell **** dies so fast that you can clear it with mediocre caster gear. Assuming he isn't playing on /players 8.

I ended up making a Fire Druid and a Kick/Trap assassin and got past the first quest. It's still early, but so far, I'm digging the Fire Druid. Both characters are still fun, just Druid has the edge up

I never really considered Amazon. Might have to give her a spin

I'm not a fan of pure mages =/ I find them incredibly boring, along with pure fighters like Barbarian.

You might like a Fire/Summon Druid.
I think SSoG dubbed it a Shaman or something.
