What if you're not connected to the internet? My net is currently capped at 15kb/second.

I highly doubt that you can get drops without being connected to the internet at all. You could try it, but if you're near your drop cap already, then you could be wasting your time.

If you want to test the theory out, wait for the drop to reset (unless you haven't played at all this week) and then disconnect completely from the internet and play offline for a couple of hours. I'm pretty sure that you need a connection to steam's servers for drops and achievements, but I haven't actually tried it, so I can't be 100% sure.

As long as "offline" means you're connected to the internet while you play with bots.

Y'know, I recall one time I idled overnight in Offline Practice, only to find when I finished it eight hours later that I'd lost connection to Steam and didn't get jack.

I restart Steam and check the store to verify if I really got nothing, and nope, turns out it was just waiting for me to connect to Steam, got my usual stuff.

Maybe that's because you started out connected to the internet and lost connection midway through, and really, 15k/sec may be enough to get his items playing vs bots. I was thinking if he started playing when already disconnected (in offline mode).

Then again, I can remember a time when you couldn't even play the game in offline mode. Steam would tell you the game was unavailable if you tried.
