There's really no reason to hate people who main heavy(least for me). Most of the good heavy players i've met are rather effective. not to mention they're capable of disposing sentries quicker than most classes if played by the right people.

Of course, everything has a hater, so haters gonna hate.

Unless there's a specific need for you to play one class and one class only, nobody should main anything. Not heavy, not soldier, not scout, not anything (except medic because hey, if you're dedicated to playing medic, there's a very good chance you're going to be the only one playing medic anyway).

I would say if you're really good at a particular class and you tend to favor that class, that's not a problem. The problem is when the class you think you're really good at is sniper and there's already 4 snipers on the team and you're not willing to change. It would be same for heavy though most often the people who "main" a class that I dislike are sniper and spy mains, because of scenarios like the one I mentioned.

I rarely see 3 or 4 people playing heavy and nothing but heavy the entire game.


tl;dr No. But I don't play much pl_frontier so I don't know what's so bad about heavies on that map.

The best players are those who are confident in playing more than one class. So no, I don't like Heavy mains.

Good point, I suppose "Main" isn't the right term. Just about every time I choose to play heavy I'm filling a void on the team, and I'll only choose it if I feel that it can benefit us meeting the objective. This happens more often than not when I play though, which is why heavy is my most played class.

If it's a fairly balanced team I'll switch it up between Pyro, Medic, Scout and of course Heavy.

Heavy Medic pairs are a hard counter to fun. They're a pain in the ass to take out alone unless you're a sniper, and your team most likely has 3 snipers already (none of which have landed a headshot yet, of course). In addition, they have killing power miles above their skill ceiling. There's no real downside to them, and "low risk high reward" would be an accurate description.

And don't say "Well ya just gotta use some teamwerk thas the games title even lol", because I'm talking about pubs, where everyone is awful and you can't trust anyone but yourself to not suck.

Heavies on their own, however, are less stupid to deal with since the Tomislav and GRU nerfs, which make ambushing a heavy on his way to the battle a viable strategy.

In short, yes, I dislike people who play heavy for more than 5 minutes at a time, you are terrible people and this game is just that much worse because of you.

I dislike people who play one class, and one class only. I main sniper, but I know enough that if there's one or two snipers on the team, I'm not needed as sniper and I'll play a different class. There's some people who religiously play one class and you can't get the to change, no matter what the team may need.
