That's more than most F2P'ers will do. I can sit there and hit X4 all day (I think thats the bind) and they just stare at me.

TC was being sarcastic. As the engy moves the sentry forward, it leaves the last point unguarded, leading to defeat.

What I hate is when you get an idiot who builds his Sentry RIGHT NEXT to yours while you're, say, setting up to defend the last cap point of Dustbowl 3 (and I've found the most effective spot is the edge of the little ledge just outside the right spawn doors with your dispenser right behind you. Spies have to try HARD to get at you that way). Since, you know, it's TWICE as effective that way. Then, when you do decide to move up and let him handle the back point, he moves right along with you. Urrrgh.

I had one of those 'monkey see, monkey do' Engies in my team before. The Red team got us on our last point. I get a Sentry up. This guy places it near mine. I move mine so we can cover more openings. Guess where he moves his Sentry to. :/

If you have no idea where a good spot is, that's probably the best thing you can think of to do on your own... Put your stuff down where someone else has theirs and then you can take in the sights while trying to figure out what makes that spot so good.

If you didn't try to talk to the guy and tell him maybe he should move his a little ways off so that you can cover a wider area, then you're part of the problem. If you DID ask the guy to move his stuff a little ways off and he still wanted to follow you like a lost puppy, well then he's trolling (or maybe doesn't understand English, depending on your location).

Yeah just type, the guy may not understand that spreading them out is the better option, think having twice the power concentrated will make harder to take down, that the healing from 2 nearby dispensers rather than 1 will be better or something equally misguided. It only needs to be explained once for them to get it forever, just picking up thje sentry and expecting them to get it isn't always going to work if they've got the misinformation in their head already that its the best thing to do.

As far the situation TC described its so damn annoying. So many times have I seen a spy cap where we had the team pushed back so far because the enginner on point got bored and changed class or moved his sentry up :/

Now, sometimes if I'm going to be putting a Sentry up towards the front lines, I will stop and build it next to another Sentry, hoping that maybe they will get the hint and help me build it faster. Then I'll haul it up, but I never sit it next to one already built.

Haha, funny story. Me and another Engie using Pomsons and Gunslingers totally and completely locked DOWN the intel on Turbine last night. We'd constantly move the mininsentries around so they never knew where they were going to be. Kept our intel safe the entire game and let our guys grab their intel like it was nothing. Their Scouts resorted to just constantly suiciding at us over and over. The other team was RAGING at us the whole game "OMG! Pomson/Gunslinger Engies blah blah blah!". Vas good times.
