Tip Of The Day #147

#1Bald_MoneyPosted 10/6/2012 1:46:15 PM
As the Pyro facing a Soldier, do not wait to airblast the Soldier's rockets, as you'll waste precious time that could be used to just run up to him and flame him. Try to land some flares at the very least.

Tune in tomorrow.

Seen so many Pyros strafing in front of me just because they think I'm gonna fire a rocket. I just look at them and think how stupid they are before I rocket jump and kill them.

You have no idea how many """""pro""""" pyros I've seen just waiting around for a reflect. Seriously, nothing infuriates me more.

And this is the whole reason the Degreaser is useful. Not "lolcombos".

Well, depends on the situation. Definitely something to keep in mind though.

when I'm a pryo, and I turn a corner to see a solider, I flame him for a split second to light him up, then I immediately airblast. Usually I end up reflecting the rocket, but not always back into him. Then it's an easy flare/axe.

Tip request: When a friendly Spy is calling for Medic, shoot him with the Crusader's Crossbow instead of healing him with your Medigun in order to avoid blowing his cover.

You mean if a friendly disguised spy calls for medic.

Except that attempting to run up to an enemy soldier is a really good way to eat a rocket to the face if you predict incorrectly. And the closer you are to him, the more predictive you have to be.

More then once, I've pinned a soldier onto the wall, went for the axtinguisher, had a rocket push me back just slightly enough to miss the melee, and eat another rocket.
