According to the newest blog post, the original set of hats -one for each class- will no longer be obtainable through crafting, drop or in the store.

This is a step down. Now instead of neglecting bug fixes and balance changes in favor of adding hats, they're neglecting the game in favor of removing hats.

Valve might as well just fire their TF2 team at this point

My opinion is objective fact. If you disagree, well, you're wrong.

I wish valve would stop the economy experiments.

Salvaged crates, retired hats, vintage... agh

FYI: http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=9714

"BATTER’S HELMET, SOLDIER’S STASH, PYRO’S BEANIE, DEMOMAN’S FRO, FOOTBALL HELMET, MINING LIGHT, PRUSSIAN PICKELHAUBE, TROPHY BELT and FANCY FEDORA"

Those are the ones going away. No more crafting, buying, or unboxing as unusuals. Kinda weird, but oh well. Never a fan of any of them anyway.

That will make newer hats slightly easier to craft I guess.

Watch. People will now be buying these hats in hopes of selling them once they are unobtainable. One of 2 things will happen.

1: These hats will rise in price by a lot.

2: The economy will overflow with these hats because so many people thought to stock up on them, and they are now extremely plentiful. Due to this, they will drop in price, and the people who have stocked up on these hats will regret their decision. Meanwhile, Valve rakes in the cash from the suckers.
