Basic idea:
-When you start firing (M1 or M2), a ball of energy appears in front of you that damages enemies as long as they're in contact with it.
-The ball will always move to stay in your crosshairs but has a limited max velocity.
-The ball moves away from you if you hold M1, comes toward you if you hold M2, and stays at its current distance if you hold M1+M2.
-Ball dissipates if you lose LoS to it or it touches a surface and isn't at minimum range.
-Movement is slowed while firing like with miniguns.

Other possible attributes:
-As distance increases, damage decreases (on top of the usual falloff?) and radius increases. Accordingly, the ball will appear less intense as it grows.
-Projectiles that pass through it deal reduced damage.
-Ball starts weak but gains strength (up to a cap) the longer it is maintained.
-If it dissipates because you released M1/M2 (and not due to death or loss of line of sight) it instead explodes for damage based on how long it was maintained (again, up to a cap).
-Ball looks like BFG projectile. :P

Seems really annoying if you were good with it, depending on how much damage it does. Imagine a Heavy with one of these hanging back a ways on DoubleCross, just rolling it around.

It'd be like a Pyro you can't kill. Hmm. This seems more like a support weapon, but good for a Heavy that isn't so good in a major fight.

Maybe the ball could weaken if enemies stand between it and the Heavy, making it easier to disrupt a Heavy harassing from long range. Dunno if the enemies should take a bit of damage while doing this, though.

Standing in front of the most offensive class in the game should always be a terrible idea. No disruptions/penalties.
