Anyway, I was thinking: It's been almost five years since I played this game. Five years. I believe I'm ready to start playing again. I won't be getting a PS3 anytime soon. No, sir. And I've been keeping an eye out on upcoming PS2 games and nothing appeals. But I can always hear that Wizardy battle music in my head -- da da da da da - da-da-da-da-da da da ...

Wolf, sorry to laugh at your expense, but the image you painted for me of you spread eagle, face planted in tree bark, just made me laugh and laugh. The influence of too many Warner Bros./Hanna-Barbera cartoons, I'm afraid. I'm glad you were not hurt.
Also, you said my "...story sucked...." I hope you meant that what happened to me sucked, and not my storytelling skills. LOL Either way, you're right.
Lady Guin, have you picked up or researched Level 5's newest game, Rogue Galaxy? I just picked it up yesterday, and I am about two hours into it. It's very interesting, very different, and very addictive.
Rogue Galaxy (RG) has all the usual Level 5 markings you find in Dragon Quest VIII (DQVIII, also made by Level 5); beautiful graphics, interesting characters, great voice acting, addictive gameplay, and more. RG isn't as wide-open as DQVIII, so there isn't that exploring-a-world feel to it. Plus the battles are all real-time. Anyway, Level 5 has never steered me wrong, so, maybe you'd like it too.

It's funny you ask that Kotonk, Rogue Galaxy has not been released here yet but it is scheduled for the end of the month. i have it on pre-order from amazon - HSO, did i mention that? - along with the stategy guide. i thought it looked like my kind of thing :)
As for wizardry. I think we should all pop it into the station and give it a whirl. i have played fairly recently , up to floor 9 .... or somewhere around there.

kotonkPosted 3/15/2007 6:51:37 AM | Lady Guin, when Rogue Galaxy arrives, I'd be interested in your impressions. I may have to purchase the player's guide myself; the game is huge! There's so much to do and so much more to miss. There's weapon synthesizing, wanted criminals to seek out, alternate outfits for each character, a factory to run (aside from the weapon synthesizing), and a New Game+ dungeon reminiscent of Wizardry's Abyss, though RG's is only 100 levels.
Obligatory Wizardry: TotFL mention: I recently popped in the disk to see if the PS3 would run it. It did, without any problems. My old PS2 had problems reading blue disked games towards the end of it's life. |

So, first of all, I will try to archive and put the pages up on my personal website. I will leave a link here once I do. I will be hopefully getting to that this weekend.
I will also this weekend be trying to get through more of DQ8! I haven't had much time to play. Sad to say, I am only at the point where I got the harp back from the moles. I did that just this morning before coming into work. So, it is coming along. I am loving the game, I just haven't had much time to play it. I am rank C champion in the monster arena though! Haven't tried rank B yet... I will probably do that tonight, and probably lose terribly since C was tough and took two tries - but I do have a new monster now.
I'm glad to hear that Rogue Galaxy is a good game! I have it sitting on my shelf waiting to be played. I also am looking at picking up Jade Empire for the PC since I haven't played it yet and really enjoyed the KOTOR games. I'm also thinking I need to pick up God of War 2. Because, you know, the fact that I have tons of games I haven't gotten to yet shouldn't be a reason why I can't pick up more, right? Yeah, I know, kinda crazy...
Hope you guys are doing well. Kotonk, I'm glad I could amuse with my story. I am okay, so we can all laugh at it together. I have no worries about losing pride! LOL
As for MacDeath's last post - sorry, I don't know where you can pick up Jap games. Sorry!

I am trying to make GFAQs show me 50 messages at a time (10 pages), but for some reason, it is stuck on showing me 10 messages at a time. I am going to fiddle with it and see if I can get it to work on a different computer and save the files. I will let you know when I have it up and running. We still have a few weeks while it's here anyways. :grins:
Besides, I was playing DQ VIII most of this weekend when I was at home. I just got the boat - I had exploring to do! Hee hee. I figure you all will appreciate that reasoning.
