simbasanPosted 2/23/2010 1:21:53 PM | I need a guide, any guide, of how to use one properly, especially for this game.
Im having a great deal of trouble having my stick register DP and RDP motions, as well as Iori's maiden masher input kind of things, etc. --- _____________________ Brawl FC-1976-9848-6470 |

The first two posts address a lot of common problems people have when starting out. I would add:
-Try very hard to avoid mashing. I still have problems with this when playing matches, but you have to just stay calm and do moves and combos like you do in practice.
-Don't get discouraged early on. A lot of things seem very difficult when starting out, but that's natural. I've been very surprised to learn that things that seemed impossible when I started now are like second nature.
-USE INPUT DISPLAY. It always tells you what you're doing wrong, which you can try to correct for later
-For dps, start by practicing walking forward, then going to down, df and hitting the button. A square gate stick makes this even easier, because you can feel the corner, which is where you stop and hit the button. Do the reverse for rdps. Once you get it down walking, then start shortening up the initial forward motion until it is just a tap.
-For maiden masher, there's no trick really, just do the motion as fluidly as possible. A common mistake I had when learning the move was either not going all the way forward on my qcf or not going all the way to back on my hcb. --- Capcom vs SNK 2 advocate |
simbasan (Topic Creator) Posted 2/24/2010 7:44:44 PM | Thanks for the link. I found a helpful youtube guide as well explaining many grips, such as the wineglass grip, monkeyhold grip, etc etc. --- _____________________ Brawl FC-1976-9848-6470 |
LocustgrovewcPosted 3/18/2010 6:19:26 PM | So simbasan do u think the arcade stick is better than the controller (pad)? |
AcesesamePosted 3/19/2010 3:51:28 AM | simbasan: I would advise learning to do things like DP's ect in training mode. There are good reference sites on how to do certain moves like that link you got from shoryken.com, though I learnt by teaching myself. We all had trouble at first but when you get the basics down then things open up to you for any game. |
simbasan (Topic Creator) Posted 3/19/2010 8:12:25 AM | All in all the keyboard is the easiest ;o
I have the basics down for the arcade stick, but the characters I play makes it hard, since 2 of my characters are very RC based, Hibiki and Rolento, and my R2 characters I can get by with Sagats lp.lpxxtiger crush and lp.clk.tiger shot super
doing the double qcf and qcb is really hard actually, so i find myself trying to use wakeup supers which could be bad, _____________________ Brawl FC-1976-9848-6470 |
AcesesamePosted 3/21/2010 12:47:16 AM | use guile or any charge character its more fun and easier than the other cast on the keyboard |
simbasan (Topic Creator) Posted 3/21/2010 1:56:09 PM | i would but i prefer characters that I like.
I already know how to play Blanka and Bison, so If i learn guile i should be able to play
