Clue 1: Look ma, no hands!
He mentions he has no actual hands.
Clue 2: It must be mine!
He is intent on having the heart Dr. Finkelstein created.
Clue 3: Two to twelve!
A reference to dice.
Clue 4: Don't touch that button!
During the battle, you have to press the right button to reach him.
Also, a couple hints were given, coming from the Oogie Boogie Song (or attempted to, at least).
