Thinking about getting this game. I have questions.

#1Flamechamp2333Posted 4/29/2013 3:18:40 PM
I ask these same questions for all the potential rpg's I get so I'll copy/paste it. Thank you in advance.

1. How big is the world? Is it really open world and free roam?

2. Are there lots of cutscenes and cinematics? Do I have to constantly bash "A" to go through dialogue or is it like bioware's wheels?

3. Do monsters respawn?

4. I've played a lot of rpgs on the 360. What is this most like? I heard its like monster hunter. How so?

5. How long is the game about? Is there a new game plus that lets you keep your level/gear in the 2nd playthrough?

6. How much incentive is there to get loot? Is there color coded loot? How many different items can you equip?

7. Are there lots of sidequests and mini games? If so, what kinds of things and how do they work?

8. What is the maximum level and is there incentive to be max level? Are there optional uber bosses or something?

9. How many towns/cities, how big are the towns and are the towns and zones in one zone or broken up into smaller pieces, i.e. load times.

10. What would you rate this game? Tell me anything you can about this game.

1. How big is the world? Is it really open world and free roam?

Fairly. Some areas are narrow, but Worlds tend to open up sooner or later. What there is is incredibly in-depth and well-platformed, so it balances very well.

2. Are there lots of cutscenes and cinematics? Do I have to constantly bash "A" to go through dialogue or is it like bioware's wheels?

Lots, and all of them have a good flair to them. No skippable scenes, and I think most of the spoken dialogue (possibly all) cannot be skipped. There aren't any that go on and on, though.

3. Do monsters respawn?

Three-screen respawn. Monsters in area 1 will respawn if Sora runs through areas 2 and 3 and then returns to 1 again.

4. I've played a lot of rpgs on the 360. What is this most like? I heard its like monster hunter. How so?

I haven't played any X-Box, but I'd compare this to Jak and Daxter for the PS2, if that helps. I haven't played Monster Hunter either.

5. How long is the game about? Is there a new game plus that lets you keep your level/gear in the 2nd playthrough?

I'd say 32HRs if you know what you're doing. Maybe 40 if you don't, due to grinding and figuring out bosses and locations. There is no NewGame+ option.

6. How much incentive is there to get loot? Is there color coded loot? How many different items can you equip?

There's a good variety, and a option for synthesising, so it's well worth exploring everywhere and 'farming' in places. It's more like gradients than colours, though.

7. Are there lots of sidequests and mini games? If so, what kinds of things and how do they work?

Mostly fluff and more-of-the-same, but they do well in making it more challenging than standard gameplay in any event.

8. What is the maximum level and is there incentive to be max level? Are there optional uber bosses or something?

I'd say it's worth being max level (100) for one in particular, and there are four optionals in total... and then some, if you count tight timings and such... see above answer.

9. How many towns/cities, how big are the towns and are the towns and zones in one zone or broken up into smaller pieces, i.e. load times.

Broken up, but huge. Loading times are practically non-existant unless you have multiple files going. The Save option will take more time depending on how many Save files you have.

10. What would you rate this game? Tell me anything you can about this game.

I'd rate this game highly (above 8/10, impartially) and recommend it purely for the magical feel and nostalgia of it, ignoring the in-game playability completely. But the in-game playability is extremely well done as well, so there's really no downside.

Go for it, and we'll see you back here regularly once you're in!

well if I get this game, it'll be the hd remake or w/e for the ps3. Not even sure what that collection includes to be honest. I think it includes more games than just this one plus int. content.

Describes the collection. Release Data page includes ETA on region releases and links to full-game addition.

no it doesn't describe the collection. It just tells me the title and NOTHING about the games. I've read that little paragraph 5 times and it doesn't say anything I want to know.

Because that's all GF knows. Check the Release Data page, and hopefully the Home description will update by then, once they have an English-language case to copy. So far no one has posted any content unique to ReMix 1.5 here, not even reviews.

What was included in ReMix 1.5 in JP has been known for a very long time, since the release was announced last year. There's information to be found, such as:

http://kotaku.com/kingdom-hearts/

You'll find good reporting and reliable translations at the above link. Best source I've found, FWIW; healthy dose of skepticism.

Twelve playable, one not. Six have sidequests (or Minigames), and all have side-collectibles.

I don't think I missed anything when counting them in my head.

A fair few, although you notice them more in hindsight (in my opinion).

A lot depends on how you play.
