Regarding the Shark enemy (spoilers?)

Not sure if a spoiler or not, but I'll be mentioning a boss name....

Do you have to defeat just Ursula's first form to get the Shark to vanish, or do you need to defeat both of her forms to make it disappear for good?

I appreciate the spoiler courtesy all the same. [She] does appear "friendly" at the start, however transparently, and that's always a good reason for caution. Regular topics ask if not knowing the Disney movies matters, so loads of gamers haven't watched the movies.

Anyway. I actually seek out shark fights as often as possible (for item farming), so the actual trigger is cloudy at the moment. I want to say before the first boss encounter actually, before reaching Den of Tides.

If it's proving bothersome, remember its appearance is random in one of its select locations Sunken Ship, Undersea Gorge, Undersea Valley so if you zone into another area (even so much as Below Decks) and back the shark may not reappear. In other words, if you enter an area and spot the shark, duck out again and return to see if it's still there.

Heh, I have the Player's Guide, and I actually found myself purposely flipping through to see what familiar faces I could spot (be they friend or foe).

I think it's more the older generation (I'm a child of the 80's) that is gonna be more familiar with the who's who of Disney movies, where as the younger generation is more about the aspect of which Final Fantasy characters are in the game (not that I don't love me some FF goodness).

The reason I was asking when the Shark poofs, is because if you wait until after you team up with a certain green clothed flyer and take down Mr. Pointy Hand, the EXP for defeating the Shark changes from I think 100 to 500.

The trigger for the change is a little farther out, actually. When Sora & company are automatically returned all the way to Traverse Town (from HB), every enemy at that point if more difficult to defeat and "pays" better. If Atlantica was skipped or left incomplete, that probably includes the shark's random encounters too. Not something I've stress tested myself, alas.

Good on ya for rediscovering KH. :j

Heh, thanks. Just spent a good long time with Okage, updating my walkthrough along the way and even posting a new Stats Guide for it (http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/471237-okage-shadow-king/faqs).

Good crossover between KH and Okage fans. Welcome to the club. :j
