I recently installed KOTOR on my Laptop (Vista Business 32 Bit), when I try to start the game, it always ends up saying: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has stopped working.
When I look at the error details, it says this (PS. I tried updating the game to the latest version and ran the game and setup in XP compatability):
Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BEX Application Name: swkotor.exe Application Version: 126.96.36.199 Application Timestamp: 00000000 Fault Module Name: swkotor.exe Fault Module Version: 188.8.131.52 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Offset: 00000110 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Data: 00000008 OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.6 Locale ID: 4105 Additional Information 1: 33bd Additional Information 2: 6d88173670d0d303384a8c11d4318aba Additional Information 3: 67a9 Additional Information 4: 1afdabe3afd29a3fff7448a92c2178a6

KotOR and vista don't really get along well. I'm not sure if there is a way to fix it, but my KotORII does it, and I just keep trying to run it; eventually it works.

Correction to above poster: NOTHING works on Vista. I'd suggest right clicking the shortcut, then selecting "Run as Administrator". --- Extreme Demon: "Teamwork is not getting revived every time you die."

For KotOR I, I set it to Compatibility Mode for XP Service Pack 2 and Run as Administrator and I haven't had a single problem with it since. KotOR 2 is trickier... I had to install a hacked .dll to get it to work every time. You can make it work on Vista... It's just more of a pain in the rear than it should be.
