I think Yu-Gi-Oh changed.

Long ago (2002-2003) when I used to play I loved Yu-Gi-Oh. Now I was watching some of my friends play at school during lunch. It was way different it seemed way more effect oriented and just stuff we never had before. I don't like the new cards )=

I don't think I could agree. More cards and more effects and such are what makes card games good. The only thing I don't like are broken cards, like yata. I'm pretty sure the broken ones are now banned from tournaments though, so that makes me happy.

But they banned Raigeki and all the cards we used to use and replaced them with gabillions of effect cards. What was wrong with Raigeki...

Raigeki is a staple card, and I don't really like staple cards. They take away from strategy. There's nothing strategic about a card that's in EVERY SINGLE PERSON's deck. You don't think "Hey, this card could boost the power of my deck," it's just "Well, Raigeki is extremely powerful, so it's going in there."

Yeah but there really only were about 2-5 staple cards. Also whats up with cards like Blue Eyes and Dark Magician becoming obsolete...

I don't see how Blue Eyes can be obsolete. It's very strong. It's still in my Light deck. *shrugs*

Cards are punished if they are broken.

Raigeki was one of the most broken cards in the game. So was Yata.

It's not who you are underneath. It's what you do that defines you.

I don't hate Raigeki, but Yata really bothered me. I wouldn't be interested in Yu-Gi-Oh today if it wasn't forbidden in tournaments.
