ptrudeauPosted 2/19/2010 11:21:08 PM | In the last 12 years or so, I've played and/or tried at least 15 MMOs looking for a good PvE and PvP experience. Still, nothing rivaled Asheron's Call: Darktide.
It was the Wild Wild West of the USA. Player driven economy, no classes, no feeling of safety at any time. Thrilling, frustrating, and grind heavy. High risk of frustration for high reward. Raids and exciting real time combat.
So, have I come to the right place? Is there anyone here playing this game with experience on AC:Darktide?

You lose EVERYTHING when you die. The game feels like Oblivion + Asheron's call to me. most of the game is played in first person unless you are melee attacking. PvP can be somewhat troublesome when using archery or magic due to lag while aiming or even in melee if people are jerking around.
Personally, I still like asheron's call more than darkfall. There is just a feel of being unfinished with a fairly empty world (players and mobs) that hinders darkfall. Also, was never fond of the lack of 'locking on' to a target such as in AC.
Take what I say as you will. There is a trial for 1 buck that will give you a decent impression of what to expect. |
