Mount drops

So I'm fairly new to this game, but I was wondering if there are any mount drops in normal instances, or just random mobs around the world?

there is a few you can get one in stonecore and there is a drake that drops in heroic Culling of Stratholme

Normal instances, generally no with some exceptions. Pre-cata I can't think of anything that would drop in normal mode, but Wrath Heroics had a few that had rare chance to drop mounts and one that guaranteed to drop a mount (Bronze Drake, Heroic Culling of Stratholme). Cataclysm offers two mounts that can drop in the normal versions of instances (Drake of the North Wind from Altairus in VP, Vitreous Stone Drake from Slabhide in SC) but they're extremely rare (less than 1% chance I believe).

Outside instances there are several mounts to find. Some are dropped from extremely rare spawns (Phosphorescent Stone Drake from Aeonaxx, Time Lost Proto Drake from Time Lost Proto Drake), some are available after doing several days worth of dailies and then buying them when you hit Exalted rep. There are so many of them currently available, I would suggest checking out http://warcraftmounts.com/ to browse around.

Oh right, from Rivendare (or whoever took over for him). I was just thinking Wrath dungeons, my knowledge prior to those is limited at best. Still, the website I gave is basically a catalog of every single mount in the game right now, so it's worth checking out.

i believe all the instance/heroic mounts are

deathcharger- stratholme
raven lord- heroic sethekk halls
swift white hawkstrider- heroic magister terrace
blue proto drake- heroic utgrade pinnacle
bronze drake- heroic old stratholme (100% chance drop when beaten under 25 mins)
north wind drake- heroic vortex pinnacle
vitreous stone drake- heroic stonecore

all which have a 1% chance drop except the bronze drake.

The Drakes in Cata drop in normal too with the same drop rate.

Got northern winds drake in VP on normal, not heroic. My first run, lucky me. I didn't know if it was rare or if it was like the time lost drake till after the run when I wowheaded it.
