Rogue and heirloom gear

#1tancientsPosted 3/8/2009 5:10:43 PM
So I'm about to level a rogue, and kind of wanted to twink it out with the heirloom gear (Before the enchants/etc get nerfed, assuming its not a bug), and wondering out of the heirloom gear which would be the best picks, along with the quickest leveling build. I've heard both mut and combat, but never really got any solid details on which one is better/why.

I picked up the heroism badge shoulders, since agility isn't "highly highly" valued for leveling purposes since I don't have all the buffs that help it scale, and I'm on a PvE server, so I don't need resilience on any of the gear.

Anyone who is a bit in the know with rogues want to help recommend the weapons, and if I should buy two of the hp restore trinkets or just one (Leveling alliance, so I don't have access to any real trinkets until outlands)

Thanks in advance.

Get the 2.6 speed sword, 2x Balanced Heartseeker and the shoulders.

Use the sword mainhand, and one of the daggers offhand until 50, then respec Mut and use both the daggers.

?

Agility is your most important stat. Shoulders give +10 monster xp which is great for leveling.

And what ^he said.

If you have 10,000 honor on a main, go to Stormwind/Orgrimmar and buy the level 70 shoulder enchant. 30 stamina/15 resilience (plus being the only enchant except possibly the ZG enchants to work on the shoulders) is very nice and isn't too expensive.

Theres no 2.6 speed sword out of the heirloom weapons:

I assume I just enchant +15 agi on all 3 of them?

And combat until 50, then mut the rest of the way, any recommended building method for it?

Basically there was a choice between two shoulders:

And I was told that the heroism ones were better than the stonekeeper ones, it might have just been the amount of agility compared to the amount of AP/hit that caused the balance. I'm not familiar with how most of the rogue mechanics work, as compared to say hunters and warriors. I didn't mean to completely ignore agi, but theres seems to be some point where AP gets a little more juice than agility, at least for leveling? Perhaps due to talents that buff crit rates quite high for rogues. Its not something I'm familiar with, which is why I'm asking. haha

Yeah, sorry, Meant the 2.8 speed PvE sword. Go for that with the PvE shoulders.

For weapon enchants should I stick with the +15 agility? Or would I be better off with fiery/lifestealing/crusader?

15 Agi is good, yeah. More crit, etc. Fiery is good early on, but Agi beats it in later levels, since a proc for 50 damage is nothing when you're white hits are over 1k.

Didn't get what you meant. Yes the heroism one is a lot superior.
