I have many guys that I want to get to 85 so I'd like to know how much time I will spend on each one. Anyone in the beta have an answer for me? Thanks!

Pure lies.

80-81 and 81-82 take about 2 hours each if you actually sit there and don't goof off.

82-83 takes at least 4 hours, probably closer to 5 or 6.

I have not yet tested 83-84 or 84-85.

I could have lived with 7-9 hours per level. It would make 80-85 be roughly the same amount of time as 70-80 is now, maybe a tad longer. Although I would probably curse myself for ever thinking this when it came time to take my 6th or 7th character to 85.

All I'm saying is that the quest design (at least in Vashj'ir) is very fast and efficient.

There are a few contested points where you will be competing with many other players for some drops or something, but otherwise the quests neatly link to one another and take you to new areas without fuss. The zone is quite large so they fit a lot of content into it, and many of the quests are actually somewhat interesting. Or at least done slightly different from old ones.

Examples: There is a quest chain that sees you playing a Naga Battlemaiden as you experience a recent battle against the Sea Vrykuls, and you get a new ability for each portion of the quest. Or one where you ride a large shark and use it to devour a ton of Naga. Or one where you have to basically wrangle an abyssal seahorse before you can use it as a mount, and have to press different directional buttons to stay on it.

In my experience, the first 2 levels flew by. I was really surprised. Getting to 83 takes significantly longer. As I said, I have not tried to get to 84 or 85, but I can assume they will take a long time. I could believe the last 2 levels taking 7-8 hours.
