I think that's why I hate it so much, Im still 89. It's not a very good zone when you can't fly.
Also, I have to level as a tank, man. Gear rewards are given in quests, based on spec. Not to mention, I do dungeons very, very often. It'd get mighty annoying switching specs that much. Not to mention the lack of dps specific bonus stats on tank gear. Not a lick of hit or crit. --- This is the prowess of CE. I'm a tank, so difficulty isn't an issue. But those mantids have a f*** ton if health and defense so it can take a long ass time to kill them. God help warlocks and shadow priests in that place.
As a destro lock (only for questing and PvP) I can kill one of the mantids with 1 chaos bolt and a couple incinerates and finish with a Shadowburn in about 7 seconds a mob. Granted things can be overwhelming if I pull too many, but I have to pull more than one to go at the speed I like. Just about finding the right balance and not getting swarmed too bad. --- GT: Whiplash941
Kun lai summit was the worst for me. So much backtracking over a dull landscape (amittedly, I may have screwed up the quest order), the Sha of anger's constant bellowing got annoying and for some reason the Grummies really ground my gears --- "So, if you get a good healer, you're just like, "Hey, bro, what's your opinion on wiener?"" - vahndragonwing

The mountain section is nice but the rest is just borean tundra. --- This is the prowess of CE. Romantic masters, clearly: http://i.imgur.com/XgMJl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/njX88.jpg
As a prot warrior, I love Dread Wastes for that Iron Mantid buff. Huge AoE triggered from Block/Dodge/Parry/Absorb/Reflect/Deflect? I can do every single one of those things? Yes please. --- http://i.imgur.com/GCekg.gif http://i.imgur.com/amV5N.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DVQNa.jpg
I liked that it was a lot harder. There were numerous times where I thought to myself "man I miss my flying mount," but I appreciate just how much more thought you had to go into situations knowing you could not drop in and drop out.
I think part of why I dislike Dread Wastes is because by the time I hit it I was so sick of the leveling grind that I just wanted to be done with it already. DW felt like it took ages. If I wasn't powering through it I'd probably have enjoyed it more.
That said, I also don't like the look of the zone. So bleak. --- SMILE! :D http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/proudmoore/%C3%85rcher/advanced
I thought this topic was about the fact that Dread Wastes is covered in Sha Corruption and is inhabited by the bloodthirsty mantid, so by comparison it is the worst zone in Pandaria because it has the most 'bad' going on.
I understand it's personal preference, but I didn't have any trouble with the zone at all. I did pretty much all of the quests leading up to with the exception of a few I left behind in each of the zones as I leveled to the appropriate zone, and hit 90 about 2/3 through Dread Wastes, so I snagged my flying and went back and finished the rest of it without issue.
If a person did it completely on foot however, I can see that making for a significantly less appealing experience. --- /target Face /cast Palm
