Has anything changed to do with Heirlooms and leveling content?

Tbh, the leveling is always what I enjoyed about WoW.

However, with the addition of heirlooms, it rather ruined both BGs and Instances.

Has anything changed since cataclysm? Or are heirlooms still all over the place?
Currently Playing: Assassins Creed 3

The only difference is that there's a new heirloom, pants, so those with heirlooms are even stronger than they were before.
One day dude, I'm just gonna get off the bus, and I'm gonna run in the woods and never come back, and when I come back I'm gonna be the knife master!

They're not necessary but definitely helpful. Helm, shoulder, chest, cloak, pants, weapon, trinket. If you go up against someone in full heirloom gear you will always be at a disadvantage because half of their gear will always be current and level appropriate.

It can remove the frustrations of leveling, but if you want to enjoy questing you can definitely out level your current zone in no time.
