Nazgrim's one line in one of the Horde Jade Forest introduction quests - Spoiler

#1MegaSlushPosted 11/16/2012 10:32:51 PM
When he almost gets corrupted by the Sha of Doubt (after the Alliance back-ambush him and destroy his airship), Taran Zhu sort of cleanses him. (what's up with that, anyway? I don't think I've seen him, or anyone else, do that outside of the Jade Forest...)

Anyway, this is what really bugs me: Nazgrim calls him a "bear-creature."
Shouldn't he already know what Pandaren are, and what they look like?
...Didn't the Pandaren already join the Hordiance/Allorde (you can tell I'm bored) by then?
I'm still unsure when exactly the Pandaren joined them. Maybe someone can clear this up?

You cleanse things/people of Sha pretty damn often after Jade Forest. Zhu's Watch, Inkgill Mere, and some early Townlong Steppes quests come to mind. Anyway.

I'd try to explain it, but in all honestly it's just a small writing oversight. Nothing to get too worked up over.

They didn't join until after Pandaria was discovered.

so you level a panda from 1-85 only to be discovered at 85.

This is an interesting post.

The entire WotLK and TBC content shouldn't even exist really, neither for that matter, should Cataclysm or 1-60 content, because in lore, all those threats would've been taken care of.

The only real way to fix this is to create WoW 2.

1-60: Illidan and Arthas are dead, Deathwing is roaming the world.
60-70: Illidan is alive, Arthas and Deathwing aren't even on people's threat meters.
70-80: Illidan is dead, Arthas is the new threat
80-85: Illidan and Arthas are dead, Deathwing is roaming the world.
85-90: Arthas, Illidan, and Deathwing are dead. Pandaria is discovered, and Pandaren join the horde/alliance.

So yes, Pandaren technically don't join the story until 85, so anything you do from before the first set of quests in Pandaria is breaking the lore :P

More like the Wandering Isle is not the same as the actual lands of Pandaria.

Ok Sherlock, but they are still Pandaren.

If you want to get really picky, then 1-1x for Pandaren: Illidan, Arthas, and Deathwing are dead, but Deathwing comes back to life as soon as you join a faction.

We all know that this is a videogame and that expansions mean the total storyline can't make sense at every point - so why does it matter?
