apparently pets have breed ids that determine stats. how do i check these ids?
Not buying SSB4 without the inclusion of the flower fairy Lip as a playable character.

There are two ways.

One way is to use Warla's website, http://petsear.ch/ . The other is to use the in-game addon Battle Pet BreedID, http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/battle_pet_breedid .

Warla's uses the API number, while the addon uses a notation system that uses two letters. They're not hard to correlate, though.

Also, you might note that you can see pet genders on Warla's database. While this is interesting, right now it has no in-game effect.

It's a bit upsetting to see some of the pets i gave female names ended up as male.

The gender currently doesn't mean anything at the moment. They only put that in just in case they do something with it.
Winning is overrated.

I've found that my male pets miss less often.
Grand Marshal/Gladiator Priest, Lightplol.
PvE gladiator holy paladin, Lightp.

While mine isn't, I fine it weird how harpy youngling can even be a male.
