The Brazilian issue is getting rather out of hand. Let's be honest here.

Brazilians? Mexicans are the problem. Every time I see one of them in a group they are always horrible, refuse to heal, have paper-thin tanking gear, and don't even TRY to communicate with the rest of the group. I only know a tiny bit of spanish, but I should at least get a reply of 'no hablo english' when I ask them if they speak it. I don't even see them speaking when the entire group (except for me) is spanish so it isn't a language thing. And worse, they're everywhere! It's only every third group I get mainly english speakers.

I'm Brazilian, and the sad part is that I cant even deny what's being said here because it's essentially the truth.

Well, let’s try to be neutral. First, I am Brazilian, so probably my English won't be perfect, but i am sure I can make myself understood. If you came with that TLDR crap, please, don’t even bother to post new messages.
First of all, your indignation is not you’re alone. I know a lot of Brazilians that hate playing with others Brazilians too. That can explain why there are still some Brazilians in foreign servers.

We have a serious problem with culture here (here in Brazil, considering the Gaming world). The majority part of our country, unfortunately does not speak any other language than Portuguese (yes, we speak Portuguese, not Spanish)… I know this is not just a Brazilian problem… most part of the American I know does not speak any other language than English… but almost every game is in English, so... Worse than that: the major part of the Brazilian people does not even bother to learn a bit of English, the tutorials of the games are in English, MMOs in special have some huge tooltips, so, you can do the math… the fan sites, forums, etc., all of them are in English too… there is the problem. Although, I am not saying that there should be sites or games in Portuguese. Games that are translates are horrible. I play all of mine in English. What I am saying is that those people should bother, at least a little bit to learning a foreign language. Take time studying before try to play… it would make the whole gaming world better.

How Brazilians (the ignorant ones) see that scenario? Well, they barely understands the game, they can’t communicate with other players properly… so? They troll… the troll EVERYTHING… EVEN other Brazilians (and that explains why some of us hate playing with Brazilians too... I am one of those). What the other guy said is also true. We are a country of casuals, in everything, including games (period. The rest is crap). I particularly think that way of living sucks, but it is that way the things work here, unfortunately. It is rare to find people here that want to give his/her best in what they do… but this kind of people exists…

I agree with you when you say that the Brazilians sucking at games are huge. The point is, there are probably a LOT of Americans, and other nations players that sucks too. But the when you notice that is a Brazilian sucking, you don’t forget. It is normal, we do the same with Mexicans and argentines… and I also have good friends that are also good players in both countries.

Just don’t generalize. I have found A LOT of Americans in three years of wow that sucks even worse than that Feral Cat tanking with cloth Brazilians.

My suggestion? Contact me. I can introduce you to Brazilians in WoW, Dota, LoL, Starcraft, and other games, that not only are good players, but also can speak to you, and maintain a conversation properly.
Peace

This is such a ridiculous discussion...

Every country has bad players!

What is happening in Brazil is popularization of online gaming! Finally some games are coming to our country, and not by illegal means... So people are going to take some time to learn how to play the damn game. I never even touched WOW, but i can bet there's a learning curve there, and i'm pretty sure it's not that easy!

And Yep there's language barrier... some people here have enough money to pay stuff, and still won't even consider subscribe for an english course, but hey that's life!

On top of that, We still have to endure u guys playing the damn games like u're the almighty creators of the hole world, misters know it all!

Do whatever u want in the game man... if brazilians suck in WOW, don't play with them. But to create a gamefaqs topic about this??

Stop crying, and play the damn game!!!

I have forgot one point: probably, when you find a good Brazilian player, that one speaks a good English, so you don’t even realize he/her isn’t from a English-speaker country

I can tolerate newbies. I can't tolerate n00bs or trolls. Wiping is fine and, if I can see you're at least trying to figure the fight out, I'll be forgiving. But if you're just sitting around doing nothing... Yea. Problem.

yeah, there are the popularization of online gaming here... broadband internet just become accessible to us about 15 years ago, and high speeds, about 8... the prices become accessible 6 years ago... so yes, you did not find many Brazilians in online gaming years ago, because there almost isn’t... simple as that... and now they can play, so they will...

you should just do your part, and don’t be an ass, and don’t generalize. Being pissed will be normal, unfortunately... but learn how to manage it ;D

The issue, for me, isn't about a player being bad, it's when I can't EXPLAIN to them how to improve, what to do, etc that irks me. As many of the Brazilians posting in this topic have pointed out, many people in that country do NOT speak any English. With Spanish players, sometimes I can attempt to explain things with the very rudimentary Spanish I know, or the very rudimentary English they tend to know, but when you ONLY speak Portuguese and know zero English, that's an issue. Although if it's true that more and more Brazilians are getting access to broadband internet, and in turn beginning to play WoW, maybe Blizzard will get their act together and form more cohesive battlegroups for those players, instead of sticking us all together and expect everyone to be happy.

Part of the issue is that we can't choose not to play with them. Blizzard lumps English speakers with non-English speakers, and we have no choice but to deal with it. (Admittedly, the EU players deal with this in varying ways as well.)
