I miss the days when Azeroth was one big unknown world and you actually had to

I hear AdventureQuest is pretty good these days

My level 81 X-Guardian is still collecting dust after 6 years.

This game really started going downhill when they implemented Battle Masters. There used to be some really great PvP outside of the Alliance Warsong Gulch portal back when people actually had to go there to queue.

Ever since then it has become more and more like Diablo or any other hack and slash RPG. Even Diablo has more exploration than this game because the dungeons aren't as linear as WoWs.

I rescued many a foolish belf trying to run from ghostlands to undercity. I'd always escort them all the way to the teleporter just to keep them from doing it again. If I found them early enough I'd give them the flight points to bypass it as well.

Being able to help others with knowledge of shortcuts was the part I miss too. After many corpse runs to figure out the easiest or safest route from point A to point B, I used to pride myself as the one able to give direction to the group on how to reach the dungeon easiest and almost always the first one get to the summoning stone.

Back when I was a Night Elf trekking from Darnassus to Ironforge, my thought process wasn't "Wow this is so cool and epic and amazing!", it was "holy balls this is annoying that's like the tenth time I've been killed wtf."

I remember paying a lrvel 60 one whole silver to escort me from wetlands to ironforge.

I still enjoy traveling around Azeroth on foot and just enjoying how huge it is. Maybe it's because I'm newer, I don't know.

I agree. They turned this game into another Diablo. Port into the dungeon you want to clear, hack and slash your way through (requiring 0 skill, even end game raids) with a small amount of people, rinse and repeat.

Why do they even call this an MMO when it is just a standard RPG?

Where's your 16/16 HC and gold challenge mode set.

Do people actually put that much prestige in the challenge mode set? Well I'm going to be a superstar soon then.

No one on my realm's got 'em at all on either faction. <_<

I think we have like, two gold medals from some people Horde-side and that's it.

You miss the days of wasting your time and mindless traveling? Well, no, you don't actually. It's all in your mind.

I always thought that was the funniest thing about WoW players... acting like all the tedious **** that used to be in the game was somehow "challenging" and stuff like mounts at lower levels and only needing to strike a node once to mine all the ore suddenly made it too casual friendly.

It was never challenging, but it was fun getting lost with your friends because you saw a random alliance/horde and chased after it to get even more lost. It was a whole different world back then. And it was more enjoyable because it was so confusing.
