How long after the last expansion do you think Blizz will keep the servers up?

I figured they would just keep it going until everyone quits or it becomes unprofitable. Or maybe it'll go F2P after enough guilds/people have cleared the final raid?

Well, wouldn't they consider shutting them down to focus all of their resources on new games?

I don't think Blizz is going to stop making expansions as long as WoW is making money.

I thought I had read they were planning on stopping expansions at level 100, or maybe they're just stopping levels at 100. I don't know what to think anymore D:

You didn't. You read some chump saying that "blizzard said that."

The only thing they've said re: level 100 is that they have no plans of stopping there.

Good argument, but not as solid as everyone thinks.

Look at the Diablo 2 servers, LoD was released mid-2001, 11 1/5 years ago, and they are still going pretty strong, at quite a large loss I imagine. Granted, the money from WoW is probably the backbone for all Blizzard servers, but still, I imagine WoW will still be regularly updated for at least another 10 years, if not quite a bit longer. Long sentence!

I know I'll be happy to play WoW for a good 10+ years.

It's an MMO. Once new content stops being released, it will die on it's own. This isn't the same as Diablo 2; completely different games. Comparing them just shows a lack of intelligence.

They did say that once, but they've more recently said that 100 was "just another number".

Yeah, when we're listening to lvl200 ETC at the Darkmoon Amusement park on Argus, we'll look back on this and go,
"You know, I wish WoW would go F2P, the $15 a month is really eating into my Social Security check."
