I don't see the point to be honest; I don't smoke in reality (well, rarely) and it isn't appealing to me to find it appealing in game. I can't see why anyone would to be honest.

Is there even smoking in Azeroth?

Good point, if it's not appealing to you, it must not be appealing to anyone else either. We should just come to you when making decisions like this in the future.

Before making yourself looking like an idiot in the future, read further in the topic. I clearly said that I don't mind its implementation and I would simply not use it.

Waste of an attempt to be an internet badass, now you ruined your chances for good. And since apparently that matters to you which is why you made that non-intelligent post... Nice work.

Anyone who smokes because it looks "cool" needs to grow. I hope this never gets implemented.

Not only does it look stupid, it shows a clear inability to make basic healthy decisions and putting this in the game would make little, impressionable kids start smoking.

Smoking is legal. Alcohol is also legal and is in the game, it even has its own holiday. Won't someone think of the children?

The only people who say others smoke to be cool are nonsmokers with self esteem issues. Smokers don't think their cool. I started smoking because it looked fun, and it was and I enjoyed it. Also because it was a social thing. I would still be smoking if it didn't cost so much. I never once felt I was cool and I didn't feel like a loser when I quit.

it is a rule on this board, your opinion =/= fact. you sound like an idiot when you say the ONLY people who think this way are non-smokers. the reason behind people saying "i do it because everyone else does" means they do it because, on some level, they think it looks cool. and yes, some smokers do think they are cool because they smoke, there are those people. to even think there is not 1 smoker who thinks otherwise just makes you ignorant. thats great, YOU didnt do it because you thought it was cool. that doesnt mean other people dont. dont put a blanket PoV on everyone that smokes just because YOU dont feel that way.
please, i would love for you to tell me how exactly self-esteem relates to how non-smokers view smokers. do you honestly think its somehow makes them more confident to think they dont smoke? ya, some people do think that they. some people dont. some people feel superior because they dont smoke, as some smokers feel superior because they do. it all depends on the person.

i dont undertstand. i mean, to each his own, but help me understand exactly what is fun about sitting there sucking on a stick, that you paid for to give you cancer. which you will then have to pay for in med. bills later if you go to the hospital for the cancer you paid for. ya, that sounds fun.

Says the guy who probably just got home from Mcdonalds who paid for a hamburger that will eventually give him heart disease that he will have to pay for again in hospital bills and pay for again when he sees the heart specialist.

Point being, everyone has vices, most of them will kill us eventually. To say you are living perfectly is a lie. To point the finger and laugh at someone else is even more of a lie. To yourself.

lol at saying something i didnt do. i dont live perfectly, and i havent been to a fast food restaurant for quite some time, because of the fact it is bad for you. either way, buying a hamburger doesnt even remotely harm your health as much as cigarettes does. thanks for blowing things out of proportion.

i was neither pointing a finger nor laughing. merely stating his lacking point of view. lacking in the ways not considering not everyone feels the same way as he does.

i feel you have either misunderstood and highly distorted what i said

Incorrect. It was actually proven that it's just the breathing. Nothing in them does anything healthy for you.

Link to proof please. People think smoking calms and relaxes them, it actually does the opposite. Nicotine increases blood pressure, your heart rate actually goes up when you smoke. The calming effect isn't breathing, it's your brain being addicted to the nicotine and it's getting its fix so it's relaxing and releasing endorphins as your reward.

Those that want it ingame, why?

RP purposes I assume, immersion. And for principle, smoking is legal, alcohol is legal, alcohol is very prevalent in the game especially with pandas now. There is no real excuse why smoking isn't also.

I smoke cigarettes. Bad habit, don't do what I do. I get it, cigarettes are taboo now. Everyone knows this. It's "US health pop culture" to hate cigarettes (yet praising, for example, marijuana, which affects you just like cigarettes -- great double standards in the US).

However, I don't want cigarettes in game, but a tobacco pipe would be a better option (no lung cancer, as you don't inhale from a pipe). In fact, I think one's already in the game.

In scarecrow's defense, this is the first time he says something that is actually not complete nonsense.

RP purpose entirely slipped my mind, even though I am definitely not against RP or RPers, but yeah, couldn't think of that as a reason actually.

Now that I remember further also, wasn't there a quest in old days Stratholme about getting a shipment of tobacco (you kill an undead for it)?
