Heres my thinking, the bloodelves and goblins are loyal to the Orcs, while the Tauren, undead, and Trolls are not. It would really spice things up. 3 factions, original horde, original alliance, and new past alliance/'horde races team made up of trolls, tauren, undead, idk who'd join from the alliance? maybe gnomes, night elves, Draenei? And I think Sun Walker dezco would be the Warchief.
Iwow needs a serious shakeup. And I heard elder scrolls online mmo has 3 factions so they might copy that. --- http://i.imgur.com/CLPTf.jpg |AMDX6 3.2|GTX460|MSI AM3|6GB DDR3RAM|2 TBHDD|Windows7 64bit Ult|
None of the Alliance races have any reason to leave their faction.
It would be more likely that all races will be able to pick which faction they want to join after their starting zones in the future over a third faction being added. There's simply not enough lore to support a third faction, while there's plenty with what's going on to have a more neutral joining system, especially if this war ends up with the two factions at peace like Wrathion seems to be alluding to. --- Each person might see a rose with a different shade of red, but the fact that we can all agree on is beauty -- that is a miracle. -Michea, FFXI
Not only you completely ignored how Lor'themar was talking with Varian about defection, 3 factions in pvp will be really stupid and result into longer BG queues. --- 'I am always surprised at how you, a Czech, have better grammar, spelling, and style than many native born speakers in the U.S.' -Ruvan22
Gnomes dwarves and night elves will never leave the humans alliance. They all need eachother pretty heavily. --- This is the prowess of CE. Romantic masters, clearly: http://i.imgur.com/XgMJl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/njX88.jpg

And the Worgen won't leave because of the help the Night Elves have given them.
And the Draenei had the opportunity to leave already but decided to stay with the Alliance out of respect and obligation after the Burning Crusade. --- http://i46.tinypic.com/2l9qm9t.jpg http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/tichondrius/Rockeign/advanced
Yeah because this wouldn't require literally rebuilding the whole game from the ground-up since BGs and such are built for two factions. --- I'm told I look a lot like Rory Macdonald - http://i46.tinypic.com/2eyf5sy.jpg Set to WARNED status for being a Republican on 11/08/2012

They could sort of randomize opponents or something I suppose.
If I queue as Horde, I can get paired up against either of the other factions (Alliance or the "new" faction)
Horde would keep their side of the map, Alliance keeps theirs. The new faction could just get thrown on whichever end of the map isn't occupied by Horde/Alliance.
Would it make sense from a lore perspective? Not at all. But when has that stopped Blizzard?
Where it would get complicated is raiding/guild.
Say Trolls, Tauren, and Undead leave the Horde like you suggested. Something very wrong with this: Who would fill in as Druid classes for the Horde, since this would be taking them away.
What would happen to <RaidingGuild>, whose raid team consists of a mix of races. Would the races that join the new faction get a free race/faction change to remain with their Horde buddies, or would they have to shell out 55 bucks just to keep raiding with who they've been raiding with? --- this space intentionally left blank
