I think Hunter is a good class to start with first and level so you can make plenty of gold doing batches of quests. All you have to do is get a Tenacity pet, tag every mob, feign death, mend pet and you're either done or 3/4 done with one quest. Sometimes I even just grab the "kill x" or "kill x for y" quests because I don't have to run around a village or something trying to find sparkling items.

You can switch a pet's type on the fly now. Any pet can be a tenacity pet.

If you haven't yet, you should look into getting two of the BoA 2H sword rare spawn in Dread Wastes. You'll go from wrecking face to stomping each mob into little bitty bite sized pieces.

warriors pretty much can't die while soloing now thanks to second wind pretty much. Whenever you are below 35% health. With that i can pretty much solo any of the rare mobs i run into. Although not as easily as hunters though, hunters are getting more and more easy to solo.

Hunter has always been a pretty brainless class to play. It's gotten progressively more brainless. First they axed the deadzone (which was pretty much the only way to reliably beat a comparably geared hunter if you were a caster), then they buffed non-BM pets, then they removed the pet upkeep stuff (including levels), then they tweaked MD, then they removed melee and simply let you shoot stuff point blank with no minimum range. Somewhere along the line they made it so you could move while 'casting' the timed shots. And mana went the way of the dodo at some point.

I find the class to be incredibly boring. There's just no challenge to be had while leveling. Single target's laughable because it's almost impossible to pull off your pet (and if you do, MD it) and what multi target you do have can be made semi-viable by MDing a multishot. You've got binding shot (or whatever) to stun mobs when they move away from your pet, too.

Hunter's the kind of class you want to play if you're going to lead raids. You can pretty much put it on autopilot. That's not necessarily a bad thing, either; I played "bind every key to shadowbolt" warlock when I led raids in BC. It has some serious perks, but I wouldn't ever call it 'fun.'

Except finding new pets. That is kind of fun.

Every class is a joke to level now, and as far as autopilot in raids goes, hunters have one of the more complex rotations now and has been getting more complex with every expansion since BC. Pandaria alone added like 3 more skills to the rotation.
