What should I stock to sell for 5.2?

#1Ruvan22Posted 2/9/2013 11:04:08 AM
I remember stocking up Truegolds in Cata right before each patch, as new recipes required them. Will Sha Crystals and the blue gems be in demand when 5.2 hits?

As far as I remember, people will be needing 40 Trillium bars for the next legendary quest. I bought mine ages ago, but I bet most people haven't.

40 Trillium Bars? That's it? That's like a day of farming at most. That is, if you have mining of course so at least as miners are safe (unless, you know, you're lazy about it)

Get a lot of Ghost Iron (Bars). Blacksmithing is getting a lot of updates where you only need Ghost Iron to level it, so people will probably start doing Blacksmithing then.

What about Sha Crystals? Or other enchanting mats?
#6ronaldjenkeesPosted 2/9/2013 2:26:47 PM
if the demand is high wouldn't the prices go down even if the supply stays the same?

That's not how it works.

People are gonna want the mats immediately, so they will pay more for them if that's the only prices people are selling at. So if you had some ready for the patch to drop you can throw it all up there and make about twice as much as usual.

This.

Supply and demand is basically - with the demand remaining constant, the less of a thing there is, the more people are willing to pay to get it.

It usually balances out, but with very high demand and not much supply, people are willing to pay A LOT more to get what they want. Hence why you can flood the market with your own stuff and probably still make 2x what you would have prior to that demand shift.

I understand the need for conformity. Without a concise set of rules to follow, we would probably all have to resort to common sense.
