Is there a quest that takes you to the Isle of Giants?

Any class should be able to beat the Dinomancers (who drop pets and a book for hunters that lets them tame the direhorns) solo without much trouble.

The dinosaurs in order of strength go...

Primal Devilsaur >>> Primal Direhorn >> Pterrodax Skyscreamer > Young Primal Devilsaur > Primal Direhorn Hatchling

The young devilsaurs and direhorn hatchlings are soloable for most classes (rogues are probably out of luck), either through surviving their attacks or through doing a little kiting--they're vulnerable to slows and stuns but not other CCs as far as I can tell. The Skyscreamers hit hard but their main damaging attack is a cone you can avoid, they can still be kited, and I know for a fact that tank classes can eat their hits well enough to solo them. Primal Direhorns hit very hard and have a charge that makes them much more challenging to kite--a really good ranged class could probably solo them but it'd be very difficult and time consuming. The Primal Devilsaurs are immune to all CC, hit extremely hard and have an enormous amount of HP, they do require a tank and a healer to bring down.

On Tuesday night my warlock and a ret pally friend were farming them--we wrecked the babies and the skyscreamers with fairly little effort and brought down the Direhorns with a bit more work, but even when we brought on a prot warrior friend the Primal Devilsaurs are just way too hard.

So whats the point of this island if there are no quests for it? Why is there no story or anything attached to it? Are they planning on adding something to direct you there in the future?

I don't get why this island just sits there when you have to fly through a fatigue area to even reach it like you aren't supposed to be there.

1 pet, 1 mount, and some easy gold.
Also, some cute little zandalari raptor pets that drop from the dinomancers.

Lock + healer had an easy time duo'ing everything on the island. Hunters could probably do the same. Destro or Demo Locks might be able to solo the Primal Devilsaurs if we had timers for their abilities.

It's another form of content. It's also where Oondasta, one of the new world bosses, spawns. It's kind of off the map because it's intended for more "hardcore" players who enjoy the challenge of fighting the dinosaurs and the grind of going for rare drops. If it were heavily illuminated and filled with player-power rewards like the Isle of Thunder, players would demand nerfs. Keeping it as a fun cosmetic side project is sort of a way of throwing more hardcore players a bone.
